On Friday and Saturday, October 20 and 21, the International Conference on Prosthetics and Orthotics was organized jointly by Human Study e.V. and Institute for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation “Dr Miroslav Zotović” Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the Government of Germany (SEQUA GGMBG).

The aim of the conference was to set standards in education in the field of prosthetics and orthotics towards ISPO, as well as presenting contemporary trends in prosthetic rehabilitation and orthotics, primarily in the rehabilitation of children with deformities of the spinal column (scoliosis).

The lecturers at the conference were experts from various fields related to prosthetics and orthotics: Youssef M. Salam (CPO, USA), Michael Rexing (P & O Meister, Germany), Eldar Husanović (Human Study eV), Dr Miloš Opačić (ISPO Category I , Croatia), Romano Špoljarec (ISPO Category I, Croatia), Nikola Jevtić (Schroth instructor, Serbia), Dr Snježana Novaković Bursać (ZFMR “Dr Miroslav Zotovic”, BiH), Dr Aleksandar Gajić (ZFMR “Dr Miroslav Zotovic”, BiH ).

Advances in medicine and technology, especially long-standing professional work, for employees in the field of prosthetics and orthotics require adequate education according to world standards. Although a relatively new profession, over the years, has faced a number of challenges in everyday work. Monitoring and application of new modern technological achievements is a well-educated expert, but also an important factor in the progress of the profession.
