Shock wave therapy against persistent pain

In the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was applied shock wave therapy. This therapy uses high acoustic energy shock waves that have an analgesic and regenerative effect on the target tissue. These waves are characterized by high positive pressure (up to 120 MPa at focusing or up to 10 MPa at radial ESWT) and low negative pressure (5-10 MPa) and are specific for rapid wave rise and short duration (in milliseconds).

In most cases, the analgesic effect occurs after the first therapy.
